San Diego-based internet radio service Slacker has received USD5m in bridge financing from existing backers Sevin Rosen Funds, Rho Ventures, Centennial Ventures, Mission Ventures and Austin Ventures.

The company previously raised USD40m in Series B funding from Centennial Ventures, Mission Ventures, Sevin Rosen Funds and Rho Capital Ventures in June 2007 and USD13.5m in Series A funding from Austin Ventures, Mission Ventures and Sevin Rosen Funds in March 2007.

Founded in 2007, Slacker provides a web-based interactive radio service. The Slacker radio player is designed to play tracks depending on the listener's personal preferences. The basic service is free and ad-supported. Slacker also sells a portable audio device linked to its main service.
