Atari is acquiring massively multiplayer games (MMO) developer Cryptic Studios through its parent company Infogrames for an undisclosed amount. Cryptic is known for its contribution to successful MMOs such as City of Heroes. The deal will see Infogrames acquire Cryptic's intellectual property, technology and games in progress. This latest acquisition reflects Atari’s focus on online gaming and digital distribution.
