The founders of Sneakerplay, a social network aimed at sneaker enthusiasts, are aiming to sell the site, blaming a lack of executive involvement. Despite sponsorship and support from brands such as Adidas, Nike, Electronic Arts and Microsoft, the two-year-old network never achieved high user figures. Visits to the site are declining, leading tech blog TechCrunch to predict that the site will soon shut down.
