CertifiedEmail software developer Goodmail Systems has raised USD20m in a Series C funding round led by Bessemer Venture Partners. Existing backers SoftBank Capital, DCM and Emergence Capital Partners also participated in the round.

The CertifiedEmail solution tags and channels messages from registered and accredited senders for delivery direct to enterprise inboxes. Content filtering is disabled for messages from authorised senders and safe emails are displayed with a blue ribbon envelope icon in the inbox.

California-based Goodmail raised USD12m in December 2006 and now claims to have raised a total of USD44m in funding and to channel more than 3bn emails per month.
