California-based internet ad firm WebVisible has acquired rival ad firm Adapt Technologies, a search ad software developer based in Pasadena. Financial details of the deal were not disclosed.

WebVisible was founded in 2001 and develops locally focused interactive advertising tools with cost-per-action tracking. It has raised USD17m in funding, most recently USD12m in a second round from Redpoint Ventures in March of this year.

Adapt develops the Adapt SEM pay-per-click marketing solution. With the acquisition, WebVisible hopes to leverage Adapt's management software with its own platform, expanding the range of control and analytics options offered to clients
