Sky is partnering with The Times to produce co-branded video news to be published on Times Online and skynews.com. Videos will focus on business as well as home and foreign news and will combine analysis by The Times and Sunday Times commentators with Sky News footage.

"These are early days, but we anticipate a strong potential for expansion of this partnership between Sky News and The Times in future," says John Ryley, head of Sky News.

The agreement builds on an existing partnership, which has seen Sky's video news feature on Times Online. As part of the partnership, Sky News media producer John Jelley has worked at The Times since May and installed new video facilities in the publications' newsroom.

"We have more than 20m unique monthly users and in the time that we have been developing our partnership with Sky the number of people watching video on our site has trebled," says James Harding, editor of The Times.

The Times and Sky are part of Rupert Murdoch's News Corp media conglomerate.
