Despair Inc.™: Battle Bureaucracy with Fake “Crises” and Caffeine

If your company is at all established and successful, it’s probably already become a bloated, uninspiring workplace, says leading satirist Dr. E.L. Kersten, author of “The Art of Demotivation.” Here’s how to take back your company by overcaffeinating your workers, limiting their contact with the outside world, and teaching them that the need for “fairness” is petty and weak.

Speaker: Dr. E.L. Kersten, Co-Founder & COO, Despair Inc.

    Unbelievable!

Is this a joke!? Is this guy serious!? I feel like I just watched a spoof on uTube!

The things that he says in this thing is outrageous. Yeah, let's just pump our slave workers with caffeine, force them to burn themselves out, and take stabs at their self-esteem while we're at it.

I'm an entrepreneur myself and if this was how I was treated, I would tell my boss to shove it. Entrepreneurs need freedom and they need to voice their opinions. All you will get with this attitude is workers that will cheat, steal, and do anything they can do to get the hell out a there.

    That is unbelievable!

    It's a joke

This guy is a satirist, as stated in the paragraph accompanying the video. He may be the guy who wrote the playbook that the pointy haired boss in "Dilbert" uses....

    Empty, souless and sick...

What we see here is nothing new. Rather than focus on tactics of management by manipulation I suggest we look at what lies behind a person whose primary management tool is manipulation - yes, that's right, absolutely nothing.. A person whose credibility and strength are based on fear will eventually be taken out by someone stronger than themselves. Fear/ manipulation is not a long term personal strategy - do not sacrifice your own sense of self for personal victories based on the pain of others. Love what you do and who you are.. lead by example, be the leader servant and enjoy giving more than you take- by doing this you will always get more than you give in ways which go beyond financial returns.

Finally, someone who sees it like it is and raises the stakes. Let's all take off the rose colored glasses and work late.

Gee you know that guy should really make it clearer that it is a satirist. He should laugh or something. Or put a laugh track on the video. I really didn't know that is what was happening.
