RE: How to stand out amongst smart coworkers

Can the documentary or video be in print form? This is preferable as the voice from the video played is poor for hearing.

    Thanks

I agree with the first responder.
I am unable to get any sound from the video, but I would rather have the information in print form (visual learner).

RE: How to stand out amongst smart coworkers

What planet do these commentators work on? Our organization doesn't give a rat's backside what your "USP" is. You are to do what you're told and if you step out of line or offer an alternative, you're labeled as a disloyal, negative problem.

Remember why you were hired — for your abilities and skills. Starla Sireno, executive coach at Fearlessness Inc., suggests you find your USP, your Unique Selling Point, and find a project that highlights it. If you can't find one—create it!

Sydnie Kohara: Let's say, I work with some really, really, smart people. I mean, I know they are smart, but I wanna stand out too, how can I do that?

Starla Sireno: You need to figure out your USP, your Unique Selling Point or your Unique Selling Proposition. What is it about you that just makes you shine? You were hired for a reason because of your skills and your abilities. You need to get back to what makes you a superstar.

Sydnie Kohara: Okay, so maybe I figure out that I'm really good at something and very positive, but how do I accentuate that positive?

Starla Sireno: You want to find a project that you can get involve with that is going to showcase your USP. Now if there's no project that's already out there, go and create it. Find out what's missing in the organization. Find out the need and then go and create it for yourself, go into your manager and ask them if you can spearhead a project that would showcase your skills.

Sydnie Kohara: In summary?

Starla Sireno: In summary, remember what makes you unique, why you were hired. Remember your Unique Selling Point, you USP and then find a way to showcase it by taking on special projects.
