2004 booth
The laboratory look is a natural for mechanical mixologists, as in this booth set up at 2004's event by a group from the technical university in Vienna. The Epson robotic gear featured here probably doesn't have the best people skills; it's more likely to be found performing more industrial tasks such as electronics assembly and machine loading.

Anthony Boucher's "Q.U.R." finally coming true?

The science fiction and mystery author (and editor) Anthony Boucher saw this coming in his short story "Q.U.R." - his robot, admittedly, mixed something a sight more complex than a mojito - but still, the late Mr. Boucher deserves a tip of the hat for prescience in fiction.
